Absolutely perfect! She showed her gritty living-on-the-edge side in Winter's Bone and I think she'll make a great Katniss!
I'm happy. I know a lot of people are concerned with "the look" but Hunger Games is going to be such a hard movie to pull off my main question has been "Can she act?"
I've only seen clips of Winter's Bone. But well...girl can act. And she can pull off the tough side. AND she won't have to fake an accent (because most people forget but Hunger Games takes place in Appalachia and she's an Kentuckian).
Yeah I'm pretty stoked! Because if anyone can actually pull off Katniss I think it's her!
I don't know Ms. Lawrence and wasn't too sure about her when I saw her picture, but the trailer for Winter's Bones showed one unflinching chick.
That, and Ross said Suzanne Collins picked the girl herself-- for her maturity and power. Who can argue with that?
Just saw Winter's Bone and I have to say I think Jennifer Lawrence is going to kick ass in "The Hunger Games". I can't wait.
