Yay! I loved this series. Libba Bray won the Printz for Going Bovine, of course you would know this, but when a favorite authors win awards or get other fabulous kudos I feel oddly proud. If you end up liking A Great and Terrible Beauty enough to read the others, know that they only get better and more thought-provoking.
I love Libba's books. A couple of years ago, I attended a TLA panel with a few "up and coming" authors. Turns out Rick Riordan, Suzanne Collins, and Libba Bray were indeed rising stars. Libba talked up Going Bovine, Suzanne gave us a sneak peek of a little project she called The Hunger Games and Rick told us about some crazy idea for a series with trading cards and 39 Clues. Hmmm... Glad I got my books signed then. ;)
I read that one and Rebel Angels. Both were good. However, I just got to hear her speak on Saturday at the SCBWI NY conference and she is A DOLL. Funny, sweet, charismatic. I love when an author of good books is also lovable in real life. :)
